Meet our team
Jennifer Anible, LMSW, RPT-S™
Jennifer believes in the healing power of the relationship and play. She believes that everyone has a set of unique strengths and gifts and a purpose that sometimes is lost or hidden because of life stressors, attachment disruptions, and trauma. Through intentional experiential, embodied and often playful practices, she believes these strengths and gifts can be re-discovered.
Jennifer has witnessed how the healing journey towards wholeness is possible when you or your child feel seen and heard, when you are supported and encouraged to face the barriers, learn new skills, and are able to access inner and outer resources. Jennifer has experienced that being aware and noticing the sensations in our body and learning what our body needs (whether it be movement, touch, or quiet) is important and can greatly impact our sense of wellbeing and even safety.
Jennifer believes that play is a child’s natural language and has observed time and time again that restoration and transformation occurs in the play therapy room through the child’s play and also connection with others. She uses a client centered approach, where she utilizes both non-directive play therapy and directive play therapy interventions that are implemented based on what the child needs. In doing so, she gleans from different theoretical backgrounds, including different theories in play therapy, which is an evidenced based therapy to address trauma, attachment, anxiety and many other childhood issues.
Jennifer partners with caregivers and consults regularly with them to offer a safe space where they can share about the challenges of parenting, learn and practice new skills, and grow in deeper connection with their child, while also celebrating their strengths and development. Jennifer utilizes specific training (TraumaPlay™ and Filial Therapy) to enhance and increase attachment.
Additionally, Jennifer works with women to provide support in coping with life stressors, decreasing anxiety and depression, and addressing traumatic events and/or family of origin issues. Jennifer is passionate about helping to support women to set healthy boundaries and advocate for what they want and need. She believes it is important to address self -care and enhance coping skills, to identify supports and internal resources so that life is about thriving not just surviving.
Jennifer loves to be in nature, to travel and to explore new places with her family and friends, and of course to play! She also enjoys to learn and grow in her professional and spiritual life. Some of Jennifer’s hobbies are reading, writing and gardening. If Jennifer could, she would live next door to a library, a coffee shop and a nature preserve with a lake. Jennifer’s life values are Restoration, Transformation, Creativity, and Celebration, which are deeply grounded in her spiritual life and the reason she named her practice what it is.
